Under the Weather Blend

November 4, 2016 | By | No Comments

It’s that time again that it seems everyone is “catching” something from someone. I use my essential oils everyday for a variety of things from immune support, mood management and natural cleaning, but I’m very quick to reach for certain blends at the first sign of feeling under the weather. Here is a blend my family and I use, some like to put the oils in a capsule, while others prefer making a blend for the bottom of their feet.

*Caution: only use oils internally if you know they are safe to do so! I ONLY use doTERRA Essential Oils because they are Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade Oils and many of them are safe to use internally. If you’d like more information and education on taking a more holistic approach to health, you can contact we at www.irisfriends@live.com

Internal use: Place the following essential oils in an empty veggie capsule and take immediately

  • 3 drops Oregano Essential Oil
  • 3 drops Lemon Essential Oil
  • 5 drops Melaleuca (Tea Tree) Oil
  • 5 drops On Guard Protective Blend (clove, wild orange, cinnamon, rosemary, and eucalyptus oils)
  • Directions: take one capsule every 3-4 hrs. until you feel better, the take for several days after symptoms go away to support healthy immune function

Topical Use: you can make a blend of these oils in put them in a 10 ml roller bottle, just simple multiply the above recipe by 4. I buy my roller bottles on Amazon

  • 12 drops Oregano
  • 12 drops Lemon
  • 20 drops Melaleuca (Tea Tree)
  • 20 drops On Guard Protective Blend
  • Place essential oils in a 10ml (2 tsp.) roller bottle and fill the remainder with fractionated coconut oil (FCO) or any other carrier oil and shake to blend
  • Directions: Apply to the bottom of the feet, down the spine and/or on the neck/throat area every 3-4 hours for several days

For stuffy nose symptoms, you can use this blend aromatically with the blend above:

  •  2 drops Peppermint
  • 2 drops Eucalyptus
  • 1 drops Melaleuca
  • 1 drops Rosemary
  • 1 drop Lemon
  • Place in a diffuser or by placing a drop in your hands, rubbing them together and holding them in front of your nose and mouth and taking some gentle breaths.
